00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:02.000
Welcome to episode 19.

2
00:00:02.000 --> 00:00:09.000
Today, we're going to take on a posture of peace by answering only to the name that God calls us.

3
00:00:09.000 --> 00:00:12.500
Hi, I'm Lindsay Van Zale.

4
00:00:12.500 --> 00:00:18.500
Posture is a podcast that serves as a short, audible fist bump to remind you that God is in everything.

5
00:00:18.500 --> 00:00:26.000
Together, we're going to be emboldened to take a daily posture of perfect peace.

6
00:00:26.000 --> 00:00:32.000
Isaiah chapter 43 verses 1 and 2 says this,

7
00:00:56.000 --> 00:01:10.000
Has it ever occurred to you that God takes it personally when Satan tries to attack you?

8
00:01:10.000 --> 00:01:17.000
After all, don't you take it personally when someone you love is in a place of suffering or being attacked by someone else?

9
00:01:17.000 --> 00:01:24.000
I assure you that you and I are not more compassionate than God.

10
00:01:24.000 --> 00:01:35.000
This was recently illuminated to me in a really fresh way when a friend of a friend, so someone I don't even know personally, was suffering.

11
00:01:35.000 --> 00:01:39.000
He was in danger of going blind, losing his eyesight completely.

12
00:01:39.000 --> 00:01:45.000
And there was a surgery that could save his eyesight, but he was unable to afford the surgery by himself.

13
00:01:45.000 --> 00:01:53.000
So friends of his gathered around, used their network to gather funds so that they could pay for the surgery so he wouldn't have to lose his eyesight.

14
00:01:53.000 --> 00:02:02.000
And I could not help but do what I could to help alleviate this person's suffering and help redeem his situation.

15
00:02:02.000 --> 00:02:14.000
So I found myself contributing, and I'm sure you've done this several times yourself when you've contributed to a fundraiser or a GoFundMe or you've volunteered in your community or in disaster relief.

16
00:02:14.000 --> 00:02:20.000
There's something in you that can't help but do something about the situation.

17
00:02:20.000 --> 00:02:23.000
And that is just who God is as well.

18
00:02:23.000 --> 00:02:25.000
We see this through the life of Jesus in the Gospels.

19
00:02:25.000 --> 00:02:41.000
He was often moved with compassion to do something to redeem people's situation, whether it was provision or healing or freedom or protection of their reputation or the way that society saw them.

20
00:02:41.000 --> 00:02:43.000
Jesus was often moved with compassion.

21
00:02:44.000 --> 00:02:45.000
He wasn't moved by guilt.

22
00:02:45.000 --> 00:02:54.000
He wasn't moved by pity, just like we're not necessarily when we're helping, but we are moved to do something because we feel this drawing through compassion.

23
00:02:54.000 --> 00:02:56.000
And God is the same with you.

24
00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:03.000
Today, he is eager and willing and most certainly able to redeem your situations.

25
00:03:03.000 --> 00:03:15.000
The beauty of it is that even in the midst of what would seem to be not yet redeemed circumstances in our lives, we sit solid in a redeemed identity.

26
00:03:15.000 --> 00:03:20.000
It's who we are in Christ because of who God is as our mighty redeemer.

27
00:03:20.000 --> 00:03:25.000
And God calls you mine.

28
00:03:25.000 --> 00:03:26.000
He claims you.

29
00:03:26.000 --> 00:03:27.000
He owns it.

30
00:03:27.000 --> 00:03:38.000
And when Satan tries to attack you, God can't help but do something about the injustice because through his justice, he sent Jesus to pay for your redemption.

31
00:03:38.000 --> 00:03:43.000
And friend, Jesus is going to get what he paid for.

32
00:03:43.000 --> 00:03:51.000
So what we can do today is partner with this truth by answering only to the name that God calls us.

33
00:03:52.000 --> 00:04:00.000
Instead of saying things like, I'm so stressed, I'm so overwhelmed, I'm so broken, it's so hopeless, it's never going to change.

34
00:04:00.000 --> 00:04:06.000
Remind yourself, I am redeemed because I am God's.

35
00:04:06.000 --> 00:04:14.000
And watch friend, as the not yet redeemed circumstances bow to your redeemer.

36
00:04:14.000 --> 00:04:19.000
The promise of perfect peace is found in Isaiah 26, 3.

37
00:04:19.000 --> 00:04:25.000
And in Hebrew, it is shalom, shalom, meaning complete wholeness.

38
00:04:25.000 --> 00:04:28.000
Nothing missing, nothing broken.

39
00:04:28.000 --> 00:04:30.000
This is who you are in Jesus.

40
00:04:30.000 --> 00:04:32.000
Let's declare this together.

41
00:04:32.000 --> 00:04:36.000
Today, I am kept in perfect peace.

42
00:04:36.000 --> 00:04:39.000
With my whole heart, I trust the Lord.

43
00:04:39.000 --> 00:04:43.000
I am strong, I am victorious, I am whole.

44
00:04:43.000 --> 00:04:48.000
Remember friend, you are a living testimony of Jesus' ultimate win.

45
00:04:48.000 --> 00:04:52.000
Not because of anything you did, but because of what he did for you.

46
00:04:52.000 --> 00:04:59.000
With every step you take today, you're putting Jesus' victory on display and Satan's defeat on replay.
