Say that, 97 00:11:00.640 --> 00:11:07.200 world of lions. They lived in a world where they were surrounded by lions. Now, a lion is an apex 98 00:11:07.200 --> 00:11:11.920 predator. That means it's at the top of the food chain and it's looking for something tasty to 99 00:11:11.920 --> 00:11:19.760 eat, maybe like little children. They raised their families surrounded by apex predators. 100 00:11:19.760 --> 00:11:25.200 They had to decide as a tribe, the Maasai, they had to decide where they wanted to be in the food 101 00:11:25.200 --> 00:11:31.440 chain. Then whatever their decision was, they had to build their lives and the entire culture 102 00:11:32.080 --> 00:11:37.360 of their people around that decision of where they wanted to be in the food chain. As a result, when the lions saw the Maasai 111 00:12:33.360 --> 00:12:41.200 coming in their red cloaks, the lions would run. Like the Maasai, we have to decide where we want to be in the spiritual food chain 113 00:12:52.080 --> 00:12:58.000 in the world right now. Do you want to raise up children 132 00:14:42.640 --> 00:14:47.040 who can thrive in the midst of a hostile environment, or do you want to raise up children who 133 00:14:47.040 --> 00:14:54.000 are going to be overcome by the spiritual adversity that they're going to face in this 134 00:14:54.000 --> 00:14:58.800 generation? Do you want to raise up disciples who are going to thrive, who are going to rule and reign, 135 00:14:58.800 --> 00:14:59.920 who are going to be the head and not the tail? 136 00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:04.880 the tail, or do you want to be a disciple who's going to rule and reign and be the head and not 137 00:15:04.880 --> 00:15:12.000 the tail? What do you want, right? Let me ask you, do you agree that we're in a hostile environment right now? All right. So here's a 165 00:17:53.760 --> 00:17:59.840 pattern. Okay. There's four parts to this pattern that I just want you to recognize. Okay. That's the first part in this pattern 167 00:18:06.000 --> 00:18:11.920 that you're going to notice when we look at a few moves of God. The first thing is usually one person 168 00:18:11.920 --> 00:18:17.360 or a few people or a handful of forerunners are going to start getting revelation from God. And 169 00:18:17.360 --> 00:18:24.560 usually what happens is they all start getting similar types of revelation at a similar time 170 00:18:24.560 --> 00:18:30.960 in history, but they can be geographically completely separated and not close to each 171 00:18:30.960 --> 00:18:36.080 other, not know one another. They're geographically separated. They don't know each other, but they're 172 00:18:36.080 --> 00:18:41.440 in the Spirit. All right. And this is what the Rite of Passage challenge that we're doing this 173 00:18:41.440 --> 00:18:48.080 week is about. It's about helping you to create a way of life where you live perpetually in a move 174 00:18:48.080 --> 00:18:53.520 of the Spirit. You were not born to come in and out of moves of God and in and out of moves of 175 00:18:53.520 --> 00:19:01.200 the Spirit. You never want to come out of a move of the Spirit of God. You want that to be where you 180 00:19:24.160 --> 00:19:28.720 live. So we're going to talk about that. So say with me again, revelation. That's the first key. So 181 00:19:28.720 --> 00:19:33.520 when people are in the Spirit, what often happens is even though they're geographically distant and 182 00:19:33.520 --> 00:19:39.120 separate, they start receiving the same revelation. Why? Because the source is the same, right? The 183 00:19:39.120 --> 00:19:44.240 Spirit of God, they're tapping in and they're getting revelation. Now next piece of the puzzle 184 00:19:44.240 --> 00:19:54.320 is a renewed mind. Now this is so, this is just critical beyond, you just cannot articulate how 185 00:19:54.320 --> 00:19:59.840 critical the renewed mind is. Romans 12.2 is where we get this, you know, this, this phrase. 186 00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:08.000 is with a renewed mind. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed. Twice of Jesus' transfiguration. Then one in 2 Corinthians 3 18 where it says 189 00:20:21.840 --> 00:20:28.720 we are transfigured in his image from one degree of glory to another. And that was not that was recognized as one of the 203 00:21:52.960 --> 00:22:00.480 major catalytic moments of the reformation. All right. Now, this reformation, let's look at it. 204 00:22:00.480 --> 00:22:06.960 OK, so remember, we're looking through this pattern of revelation produces renewed minds, 205 00:22:06.960 --> 00:22:11.200 produces reformation, which is different actions, a different way of doing things, 206 00:22:11.200 --> 00:22:15.920 which produces a restoration. That type of stuff was just crazy. A little context, a little bit of context on this 224 00:23:55.520 --> 00:24:03.360 is that the culture in England was really, really dark. You know, it was dark. Well, these were extremely dark days in England in the days of John Wesley. 226 00:24:10.240 --> 00:24:16.720 So at this time, you had the Great Awakening in England and and breaking out into America. 227 00:24:17.600 --> 00:24:21.280 France, for example, missed out on the Great Awakening. Instead of the Great Awakening, 228 00:24:21.280 --> 00:24:27.360 they had the French Revolution, which led to massive bloodshed. All right. He went from England to be a 233 00:24:52.320 --> 00:24:58.480 missionary to the American Indians, you know, all the way, traveled by boat to America. I know a lot of my friends in America 270 00:28:19.680 --> 00:28:23.680 right now would say, well, it's really not looking much like a Christian nation at the moment. And that came about through the Rochester Revival, was one of the main catalytic 274 00:28:41.520 --> 00:28:49.520 moments. Charles Finney had a prayer warrior with him all the time, whose name was 276 00:28:55.360 --> 00:29:00.640 Brother Nash, Daniel Nash. He was just known as Brother Nash. Oftentimes, what Brother Nash's prayers would 278 00:29:06.160 --> 00:29:11.600 look like is just rolling on the ground, praying in the spirit, and groaning for days at a time, 279 00:29:11.600 --> 00:29:16.640 just to see a move of God. Now, that totally reminds me of the verse we just read from 280 00:29:16.640 --> 00:29:23.920 Jeremiah 29, 13, which is, when you seek me as your vital necessity, you will find me. So he just gave 281 00:29:23.920 --> 00:29:27.920 himself to that, and he got a breakthrough, and then Charles Finney would come in and preach. And then a move of the spirit of God broke out there, and they had recorded 1,500 other 284 00:29:41.200 --> 00:29:46.080 outpourings that were sparked from that one place.
