WEBVTT 1 00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:28.000 All right, welcome to Faith Friday, and this is going to be a special session on Faith Friday, because we're going to get into some teaching and activation on faith, because it's just become a topic of interest, and also a topic of just what the Lord is putting on our hearts this week and in this season, because we need it. 2 00:00:28.000 --> 00:00:38.000 And we need to activate our faith, and there needs to be an understanding of how to use our faith, what faith is, all that kind of stuff. 3 00:00:38.000 --> 00:01:00.000 And Jackie's asked me to go ahead and share a little bit on that, because she and I were talking earlier this week about some specific things that related to the activation of faith as it relates to achieving and getting into and seeing things change in your life. 4 00:01:00.000 --> 00:01:12.000 This community is centered around activating and getting into relationship and focusing in on that part of your life. 5 00:01:12.000 --> 00:01:20.000 But there's so many other parts of your life that, in my life included, that we can activate in faith. 6 00:01:20.000 --> 00:01:30.000 And relationship, of course, and getting breakthrough in the areas of your personal relationships and your romantic relationships, of course, is very important. 7 00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:37.000 But getting breakthrough in a lot of other things is important as well that also relate to getting into personal relationships. 8 00:01:37.000 --> 00:01:41.000 So it's important that we understand that, and we're going to do that today on Faith Friday. 9 00:01:41.000 --> 00:01:48.000 We're going to do some activating later on as well, and I think you're going to be really excited about it, because I think you're going to get some breakthrough. 10 00:01:48.000 --> 00:01:52.000 We're really looking forward to some testimonies coming out of today's activation. 11 00:01:52.000 --> 00:01:56.000 So if you're ready, get ready. 12 00:01:56.000 --> 00:02:05.000 I want you to respond a lot in the comments this morning, if you can, just by way of participating and activating. 13 00:02:05.000 --> 00:02:11.000 Where do I want to start with regard to your activating? 14 00:02:11.000 --> 00:02:14.000 Maybe it'll come to me here in just a second, but let me get into this. 15 00:02:14.000 --> 00:02:27.000 I pulled some notes from my teaching days where, you know, I come from the word and faith background. 16 00:02:28.000 --> 00:02:49.000 That is a movement of kind of teaching that was really popularized in the 70s and 80s, where in Christian charismania, if you want to call it that, that style of Christianity, there was a strong focus on the word. 17 00:02:49.000 --> 00:03:05.000 There was a strong focus on activating your faith, moving in the gifts of the Spirit, and it was really a revelation, a resurgence, a renaissance, if you will, of being filled with the Spirit for the modern-day believer. 18 00:03:06.000 --> 00:03:23.000 And it was a season and time, on the heels of a lot of the faith healing that was happening in the 40s and 50s, there was this now resurgence of in the 70s and 80s, where there was a strong teaching. 19 00:03:23.000 --> 00:03:36.000 It was more teaching and not necessarily—it was activation, because it usually always was some sort of like activation at the end in the kinds of services that I grew up as a young child when my faith was being formed. 20 00:03:37.000 --> 00:03:58.000 Now, I'll tell you, there's a lot of things that happen in every movement of faith, every movement, I would even say, of every denomination or every outpouring or every—there's always the extremes. 21 00:03:58.000 --> 00:04:11.000 There's always the 2.0, 3.0, second and third generation, where humans, as they get involved, people begin to start getting messed up. 22 00:04:12.000 --> 00:04:20.000 They get away from the core truth. They get away—they have their personalities get involved, their egos get involved, and there's lots of things that happen. 23 00:04:20.000 --> 00:04:32.000 That happens with every movement. That happens with every revelation. That happens with—and so what we as believers want to do is we want to contend for truth. 24 00:04:33.000 --> 00:04:39.000 We want to contend for the core truth and power of the word. 25 00:04:39.000 --> 00:05:00.000 And so regardless of—I say that to say that regardless of what you've heard about faith or faith teaching, grab it and blab it, some people call it, trying to speak in tongues and get a new car, that type of thing, there's been a lot of criticism for that style. 26 00:05:00.000 --> 00:05:03.300 of going after faith. 27 00:05:03.300 --> 00:05:06.220 But that's not what I'm talking reinforcements, and I could come I've been. Sometimes we would have other people come with us. 222 00:15:26.000 --> 00:15:39.000 And sometimes we go out two by two, and we'd have another minister there and so we're adding their faith, and so we're adding our faith together to come into agreement for breakthrough for this person healing and deliverance right. 223 00:15:39.000 --> 00:15:42.000 That is scriptural is powerful and you can do it. 224 00:15:42.000 --> 00:15:47.000 And then some of what we're going to be doing today. 225 00:15:47.000 --> 00:16:07.000 The next thing I want to highlight is that faith comes by speaking and believing Mark 1122 to 24 is very hallmark word of faith scripture, have faith in God. 226 00:16:07.000 --> 00:16:09.000 I love that. 227 00:16:09.000 --> 00:16:12.000 Have faith in God. 228 00:16:12.000 --> 00:16:25.000 For surely I say to you, whoever says to this mountain be removed and be cast into the sea and does not have doubt in his heart, but believe that those things that he says will be done. 229 00:16:25.000 --> 00:16:41.000 He will have he or she will have whatever he says, therefore I say to you this Jesus speaking, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. 230 00:16:41.000 --> 00:16:45.000 And you say, but that sounds so simple. It is. 231 00:16:45.000 --> 00:16:47.000 It is so simple. 232 00:16:47.000 --> 00:16:52.000 Then why is it so hard because there's so many things in the way. 233 00:16:52.000 --> 00:17:05.000 And it's not to your own I mean look, we're living in a difficult time. We're living in a difficult world. We're living in a world with an incredible amount of resistance, spiritually, supernaturally, naturally. 234 00:17:05.000 --> 00:17:08.000 So it's, it's a given that yeah it's hard. 235 00:17:08.000 --> 00:17:14.000 It is challenging. It is a lot of stuff we have our this is what the hard work is all about right. 236 00:17:14.000 --> 00:17:23.000 We see the trauma we recognize the things we have trauma. And so the hard work helps us reveal some of the trauma we've been dealing with the things that are in our way. 237 00:17:23.000 --> 00:17:37.000 Okay, so those things are there by our own doing by the, by the, the doings of people that have been in our past things that aren't even have anything to do with us but they're present there because they came into life somehow. 238 00:17:37.000 --> 00:17:43.000 Those are just the givens or it's not about, you know where the blame is. 239 00:17:43.000 --> 00:17:48.000 It is just about the fact that there's things in your way there's things that are resisting you. 240 00:17:48.000 --> 00:17:58.000 And when we sooner we get those things out of the way and get clarity, which this lesson is supposed to do today. Have faith in God. 241 00:17:58.000 --> 00:18:18.000 In spite of the circumstances, in spite of what you see, in spite of what you think you know, in spite of what somebody else says no have faith in God, and having faith in God you could literally as Jesus says you could literally speak to a mountain. 242 00:18:19.000 --> 00:18:27.000 How many of you today would say that there are things that you feel like are resisting you there are obstacles in your life that feel like mountains. 243 00:18:27.000 --> 00:18:40.000 That's, it's why he used a mountain analogy. He didn't say, speak to the little moral he'll speak to the little pebble, and it'll be moved away because that's easy to understand we could just kick that out of the way. 244 00:18:40.000 --> 00:18:51.000 He used the analogy of a mountain that is supposed to be in the place of or reference or visual representation of the stuff that's in your way. 245 00:18:51.000 --> 00:18:57.000 And Jesus said, when you have simple faith in God. 246 00:18:57.000 --> 00:19:03.000 You will speak to that mountain in it shall we be removed. 247 00:19:03.000 --> 00:19:06.000 And that shall be cast into the sea. 248 00:19:07.000 --> 00:19:14.000 What happens to dirt when it goes into water it usually just dissolves and settles, it goes away. 249 00:19:14.000 --> 00:19:23.000 Take a cloud of dirt and a big pile of dirt a mountain of dirt, and you move it out of the way and it dissolves. 250 00:19:23.000 --> 00:19:27.000 That is how simple and effective and powerful and strong. 251 00:19:27.000 --> 00:19:32.000 Having faith in God can be and as I said before, what is faith. 252 00:19:32.000 --> 00:19:35.000 Faith is just simply knowing God. 253 00:19:35.000 --> 00:19:40.000 Until you know God, you have to know what his word says. 254 00:19:40.000 --> 00:19:42.000 So it's very simple. 255 00:19:42.000 --> 00:19:44.000 What does his word say. 256 00:19:44.000 --> 00:19:52.000 Yeah, but yeah but I don't have any money yeah but what does this word say. But a centurion who's a Roman soldier and a Roman soldier of authority and a 416 00:30:39.280 --> 00:30:45.200 man who commands multiple other Roman soldiers in the biblical times had a 417 00:30:45.200 --> 00:30:51.160 bondservant who was held in honor and highly valued by him and whose his 418 00:30:51.160 --> 00:30:57.640 bondservant was sick and at the point of death. And when the centurion heard 419 00:30:57.640 --> 00:31:06.960 of Jesus he sent some Jewish elders to him requesting him to come and make his 420 00:31:06.960 --> 00:31:12.120 bondservant well. And when they reached Jesus they begged him earnestly saying 421 00:31:12.120 --> 00:31:16.720 he is he is worthy that you should do this for him. In other words they 422 00:31:16.720 --> 00:31:20.800 understood the centurion and they had a relationship with him and they vouched 423 00:31:20.800 --> 00:31:27.760 for him to Jesus they said he's worthy like he won't despise the teaching of 424 00:31:27.760 --> 00:31:32.400 Jesus. But when he was not far from his house the centurion sent 426 00:31:37.520 --> 00:31:42.520 some friends to him saying the Lord do not trouble yourself for I am not 427 00:31:42.520 --> 00:31:46.720 sufficiently worthy to have you come under my roof.
