promise is that we're going to do each week. 10 00:00:55.720 --> 00:01:03.280 And you've probably noticed he gives a unique twist to kind of think about it. 11 00:01:03.280 --> 00:01:13.360 And so today he's got me in Ephesians 6 and it goes like this. 12 00:01:13.360 --> 00:01:18.240 You know this part, but I think there's a little bit of depth that we're going to add. 13 00:01:18.240 --> 00:01:26.920 It says, therefore, put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, 14 00:01:26.920 --> 00:01:40.080 you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything to stand. 15 00:01:40.080 --> 00:01:51.040 So there's a moment in life that we often face as believers, many moments. 16 00:01:51.040 --> 00:02:01.440 But think about this where you prayed and you obeyed and you took action and you did 17 00:02:01.440 --> 00:02:04.840 everything you know to do. 18 00:02:05.840 --> 00:02:08.560 Am I talking to anybody? 19 00:02:08.560 --> 00:02:17.640 And yet the outcome is still unfolding. 20 00:02:17.640 --> 00:02:26.160 And this is a really decisive moment, a decisive period of time. 21 00:02:26.160 --> 00:02:37.200 That's when many people will It stabilizes your direction. 178 00:15:21.000 --> 00:15:26.000 And faith extinguishes the fear. 179 00:15:26.000 --> 00:15:28.000 Because faith and fear can't coexist. 180 00:15:28.000 --> 00:15:33.000 So when you've got your shield of faith up, 181 00:15:33.000 --> 00:15:38.000 it extinguishes the fear. 182 00:15:38.000 --> 00:15:42.000 Salvation secures your identity. 183 00:15:42.000 --> 00:15:48.000 You know who you are as a daughter of the Most High God. 184 00:15:48.000 --> 00:15:51.000 And the Word establishes your authority. 185 00:15:51.000 --> 00:15:58.000 So when these are in place, you can stand. 186 00:15:58.000 --> 00:16:01.000 Isn't that good? I always like to add some neuroscience. 189 00:16:07.000 --> 00:16:11.000 I'm scripture science strategy. 190 00:16:11.000 --> 00:16:16.000 Let's talk about it from a brain perspective really quick. 191 00:16:16.000 --> 00:16:22.000 When you feel uncertain, when you feel under pressure, 192 00:16:22.000 --> 00:16:26.000 when fear wants to come in, 193 00:16:26.000 --> 00:16:30.000 your body releases stress hormones. 194 00:16:30.000 --> 00:16:33.000 You become a chemical stew. 195 00:16:33.000 --> 00:16:38.000 Cortisol, adrenaline pushes to want to fight, flight. 196 00:16:38.000 --> 00:16:41.000 Right? Fix. 197 00:16:41.000 --> 00:16:45.000 That's where striving is happening. 198 00:16:45.000 --> 00:16:53.000 Faith actually changes our brain and our entire physiology. 199 00:16:53.000 --> 00:16:56.000 So when we return and we're standing, 200 00:16:56.000 --> 00:16:59.000 when we return to this trust, this prayer, this truth, 201 00:16:59.000 --> 00:17:03.000 we're standing on the truth. Your Word says. 202 00:17:03.000 --> 00:17:07.000 We're standing on our identity who God made us. 203 00:17:07.000 --> 00:17:11.000 The nervous system actually calms down. 204 00:17:12.000 --> 00:17:14.000 The vagus nerve actually goes. 205 00:17:14.000 --> 00:17:19.000 Did you know the vagus nerve actually goes to every organ in the body? 206 00:17:19.000 --> 00:17:23.000 Do you know that it's profound? 207 00:17:23.000 --> 00:17:25.000 And so when the nervous, 208 00:17:25.000 --> 00:17:28.000 we talked about this in a couple of the previous lessons, 209 00:17:28.000 --> 00:17:32.000 when we go into the parasympathetic, right? 210 00:17:32.000 --> 00:17:35.000 The sympathetic nervous system is the fight or flight. 211 00:17:35.000 --> 00:17:38.000 Everything shuts down, everything closed. We're in panic. 212 00:17:38.000 --> 00:17:40.000 We're ready to run. We're ready to fight. 213 00:17:40.000 --> 00:17:45.000 So creativity shuts down. The brain is not operating in fullness. 214 00:17:45.000 --> 00:17:48.000 We're clenched up. Think about what happens with fear. 215 00:17:48.000 --> 00:17:50.000 We clench our fists, our body clench up. 216 00:17:50.000 --> 00:17:52.000 All the blood goes to the center, right? 217 00:17:52.000 --> 00:17:57.000 Like it's not a creative expansive mode, the sympathetic. 218 00:17:57.000 --> 00:18:02.000 And God has called us to be in the parasympathetic, right? 219 00:18:02.000 --> 00:18:05.000 And that's when clarity returns and, 220 00:18:05.000 --> 00:18:07.000 and creativity opens up. 221 00:18:07.000 --> 00:18:10.000 Different parts of the brain open up our discernment. 222 00:18:10.000 --> 00:18:14.000 We talked last week about discernment comes. 223 00:18:14.000 --> 00:18:17.000 We did Hebrews four and Hebrews five, remember? 224 00:18:17.000 --> 00:18:22.000 And that's why faith rest, which by the way, side note, 225 00:18:22.000 --> 00:18:25.000 I'm super excited. You know, I, Isaiah 26, 241 00:19:33.000 --> 00:19:41.000 three says he will keep thou in perfect peace. 242 00:19:41.000 --> 00:19:46.000 Who keeps his mind stayed on God. 243 00:19:46.000 --> 00:19:53.000 So when we're, you know, Paul says, fix your mind on these things. 244 00:19:53.000 --> 00:19:57.000 Jesus gave us peace. He said, peace. 245 00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:05.060 peace that passes all understanding and so that's what this faith rest and so 246 00:20:05.060 --> 00:20:13.220 that's what the standing is that the
