have sex with a bunch of guys, you want to have sex with a bunch of gals, 7 00:00:40.960 --> 00:00:48.480 if you want to continue to have relationships that you know are improper, or maybe you don't 8 allows you to do that. 11 00:00:55.480 --> 00:00:56.880 But he's always crying out. 12 00:00:56.880 --> 00:01:02.480 He's crying out to us that we might know him, that we might follow the kingdom way. just stop there. 17 00:01:21.680 --> 00:01:28.280 So the beginning of any area of sin in our life is suppressing the truth, and it's interesting. 18 00:01:28.280 --> 00:01:33.240 This is actually a classical Greek word, which means to hold down. 19 00:01:33.240 --> 00:01:38.880 It's the idea of a helmsman with his hands on the rudder of a ship who is fighting to 20 00:01:38.880 --> 00:01:42.440 That's the beginning of socialism and a dictatorship, because every dictatorship, every communist 29 00:02:21.040 --> 00:02:26.880 regime that's ever been, the first thing they do is they suppress the In other words, I'm trusting that when that light is green, 70 00:05:23.680 --> 00:05:27.920 that other people are going to follow the law. This is man-made laws, but it's like 71 00:05:27.920 --> 00:05:32.680 the laws of God, and they're going to stop. So, I don't worry about what's happening 72 00:05:32.680 --> 00:05:36.680 with the traffic on the right or what's happening with traffic on the left. I just 73 00:05:36.680 --> 00:05:41.760 go straight because the light tells me it's green, so it's safe. But if I decided to 74 00:05:41.760 --> 00:05:47.000 say, well, you know, I don't really like stop lights. I don't really like green, yellow, 75 00:05:47.000 --> 00:05:51.440 or red lights. I'm going to do whatever I want to do. And so, I'm going to suppress 76 00:05:51.440 --> 00:05:57.800 the truth. I'm going to suppress the law in unrighteousness. They're still following that. So, it's red. The light says red on my side. It's 80 00:06:14.480 --> 00:06:18.040 green on their side, but I don't really want to follow the law. I don't care about 81 00:06:18.040 --> 00:06:22.400 the law. I want to do my own thing, and I want to get home five minutes faster. That's where you suppress the truth. You're going to talk about futility 84 00:06:34.280 --> 00:06:39.480 of thinking, and you're going to have a whole lot of devastation in your life. And 85 00:06:39.480 --> 00:06:44.880 that's why I want to talk about the sexual revolution and the Kinsey Report because when 86 00:06:44.880 --> 00:06:51.320 we see a society going in the direction of what Romans 1 says, it's devastation for 87 00:06:51.320 --> 00:06:58.320 everybody in that culture. So, our passage says that God gives people over to uncleanness 88 00:06:58.320 --> 00:07:05.320 and the lust of their heart. Well, in 1948 and in 1953, a two-part cultural phenomena 89 00:07:05.320 --> 00:07:12.320 took place with the publication of the monumental works of Alfred Kinsey on male and female 90 00:07:12.640 --> 00:07:19.640 sexuality. Sexual behavior in the human male and sexual behavior in the human female were 91 00:07:19.640 --> 00:07:26.640 published, and it took the entire culture in America by a firestorm. One writer writes, 92 00:07:29.480 --> 00:07:35.720 quote, more than any other documents in history, they have shaped Western society's beliefs 93 00:07:35.720 --> 00:07:41.280 and understanding of what human sexuality is. The New York Times hailed Kinsey as the 94 00:07:41.440 --> 00:07:48.160 father of the sexual revolution. According to an article in Esquire magazine, Kinsey 95 00:07:48.160 --> 00:07:54.560 was the, quote, patron saint of sex, whose books set in motion the first wave of the 96 00:07:54.560 --> 00:08:01.560 sexual revolution, end quote. The Kinsey Report on sexuality inspired Hugh Hefner and his 97 00:08:01.560 --> 00:08:08.560 Playboy magazine. Hefner wrote in his first issue, quote, we believe we are filling a 98 00:08:08.800 --> 00:08:15.800 publishing need only slightly less important than one just taken care of by the Kinsey 99 00:08:16.240 --> 00:08:23.240 Report. The Kinsey Report and books exploded upon the American culture. Writing in Harper's 100 00:08:23.560 --> 00:08:30.560 magazine, Albert Deutsch explained, quote, the Kinsey survey explodes traditional concepts 101 00:08:31.560 --> 00:08:38.559 of what is normal and abnormal, natural and unnatural in sex behavior. Now I don't have 102 00:08:38.559 --> 00:08:44.560 time to go into all of the different aspects of what the Kinsey Report said, but I'll give 103 00:08:44.560 --> 00:08:51.560 you one example to give you example for all the others, and that is this. The report said 104 00:08:51.560 --> 00:08:58.560 that 75% of men were involved in sex before marriage or immorality after marriage, and 105 00:09:00.920 --> 00:09:07.920 that was like, what? 75% of, quote, unquote, Christian America men were involved in sex 106 00:09:09.280 --> 00:09:16.200 outside of marriage, and people believed it as fact. It just was, it was in every magazine. 107 00:09:16.200 --> 00:09:21.780 It was on newscasts for the next 10 years, and many would say, and I would say that the 108 00:09:21.780 --> 00:09:28.780 statistics back this up, that by around 1962 or 63, the Kinsey Report was key in what became 109 00:09:29.300 --> 00:09:36.300 known as the sexual revolution on especially the university campuses in America. The problem 110 00:09:36.820 --> 00:09:43.820 was, and this is always a problem in American journalism, no one checked the studies by 111 00:09:45.700 --> 00:09:52.700 Alfred E. Kinsey, because actually his reports were skewed. He lied about his findings, and 112 00:09:53.260 --> 00:09:59.660 at the time simply made up data that he published. Kinsey admitted that he set out to destroy 113 00:09:59.660 --> 00:09:59.940 the 114 00:10:00.000 --> 00:10:06.000 biblical Judeo-Christian view of marriage and sexuality, even if it meant lying in his 115 00:10:06.000 --> 00:10:13.000 data. According to the Irish Times, Kinsey believed in the rape of children. Over 300 116 00:10:13.000 --> 00:10:22.400 children were molested in his studies. Bestiality, sadomasochism, along with his wife, they regularly 117 00:10:22.400 --> 00:10:31.800 had sex with their clients and their researchers. Between 1938 and 1963, over 18,000 persons 118 00:10:31.800 --> 00:10:37.760 were interviewed for their sex histories. What came to light later, though, was that 119 00:10:37.760 --> 00:10:45.040 they were not a random selection, but rather were chosen only after being interviewed. 120 00:10:45.040 --> 00:10:50.580 In other words, Alfred E. Kinsey knew what he wanted. He was looking for a certain type 121 00:10:50.580 --> 00:10:57.820 of sexual history for him to use, but he presented it as though it was random samples. 122 00:10:57.820 --> 00:11:03.820 Rather than a true sample of society, Kinsey and his team chose a large percentage of convicted 123 00:11:03.820 --> 00:11:12.260 sex offenders, prisoners, and prostitutes for their research. Himself a pedophile, bisexual, and voyeurist, Kinsey's false reports and 127 00:11:34.140 --> 00:11:40.740 deceptive research has, according to Drs. Judith Reisman, Dr. John Cort, and Gordon 128 00:11:40.740 --> 00:11:49.540 Muir been catalytic to, and I quote, the rise of divorce, sexual promiscuity, sexually 129 00:11:49.540 --> 00:11:57.540 transmitted diseases, illegitimate births, cohabitation, pornography, homosexuality, 130 00:11:57.540 --> 00:12:06.660 sadomasochism, rape, child molestation, sexual crimes of all types, family breakup, endemic 131 00:12:06.700 --> 00:12:13.700 violence, etc. They can all be attributed to the scandalous research undertaken by Kinsey. 132 00:12:13.700 --> 00:12:20.260 Kinsey's research was never checked, and only in the last 20 years has it actually 133 00:12:20.260 --> 00:12:27.540 come to light through research about what he actually did. Women are more at risk than men. New data published by the CDC estimates that on any 142 00:13:21.980 --> 00:13:29.020 given day in 2018, one in five people in the U.S. had a sexually transmitted infection. 143 00:13:29.020 --> 00:13:35.980 It's called an STI. More than 500 million people across the globe between the ages of 144 00:13:35.980 --> 00:13:44.860 15 and 49 are estimated to have a genital infection with herpes simplex virus, HSV, 145 00:13:44.860 --> 00:13:50.700 or herpes. Jesus said, the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come 146 00:13:50.700 --> 00:13:56.460 to give you life and more abundantly. This is devastating information, men and women. 147 00:13:56.460 --> 00:14:03.420 It's destructive. And the proper response is to say, it's not okay.
