So what we saw is there's no partiality, and 30 00:03:08.440 --> 00:03:15.360 we need to mute on any meeting please, so there's no partiality, He's speaking to young 31 00:03:15.360 --> 00:03:22.360 and old and poor and rich and He's speaking in different ways. As the Holy Spirit comes 32 00:03:23.040 --> 00:03:28.120 for some it's going to be prophecy, it's going to be a knowing of things to come, a knowing 33 00:03:28.120 --> 00:03:33.040 of the heart of God, for others it's going to be visions, it's going to be a seeing, 34 00:03:33.040 --> 00:03:37.360 seeing what God is doing, for others it's going to be dreams, which we're going to talk 35 00:03:37.360 --> 00:03:44.360 about today. And so as we look at these scriptures, I also pulled up Hebrews 13.8 and it says 36 00:03:46.520 --> 00:03:53.360 that Jesus is eternally changeless, that He's the same yesterday, He's the same today, He's 37 00:03:53.360 --> 00:04:00.360 the same forever. And I pair that up, that was Hebrews 13.8, I pair it up with Romans 38 00:04:00.920 --> 00:04:07.920 2.11, which says, for God shows no partiality, no arbitrary favoritism, with Him one person 39 00:04:11.200 --> 00:04:17.700 is not more important than the other. This has been so important for me in this subject 40 00:04:18.060 --> 00:04:24.700 of hearing from God, because I have to tell you, I spent most of my life not knowing that 41 00:04:24.700 --> 00:04:31.260 I could hear from God. And it wasn't until I saw people, I met people that did, I met 42 00:04:31.260 --> 00:04:36.740 people that walked in the prophetic, I walked in people that had a healing anointing, and 43 00:04:36.740 --> 00:04:43.260 what happened for me is it stirred up a holy hunger in me. And I remember telling God, 44 00:04:43.260 --> 00:04:50.260 I really desire that. And I reminded God of this. I said, God, you know, you put these 45 00:04:51.100 --> 00:04:56.440 promises in the Bible, and you're no respecter of people, and if you do it for him or you 46 00:04:56.440 --> 00:05:00.060 do it for her, I want you to do it for me. And God did. 47 00:05:00.000 --> 00:05:07.020 did and and and I would love to bring that encouragement to you that each one 48 00:05:07.020 --> 00:05:11.940 of us has access to God from from the beginning of Genesis to the end of 49 00:05:11.940 --> 00:05:18.700 Revelation and on beyond with the Holy Spirit God has shown that he is always 50 00:05:18.700 --> 00:05:25.140 speaking and that he wants to have an intimate relationship with us and that 51 00:05:25.140 --> 00:05:30.620 he desires to clue you in he doesn't want you going through life blind or 52 00:05:30.620 --> 00:05:36.460 struggling or suffering he wants to speak to you and show you the direction 53 00:05:36.460 --> 00:05:44.420 and and the hope and the possibilities and so I I open this whole thing with 54 land two of them said you know what our God is bigger God promised this 71 00:07:25.980 --> 00:07:32.620 land he's a faithful promise keeping God we will overcome we can overtake this we 72 And so as I open, there's a wonderful verse in 1 Corinthians 14 that says, 116 00:12:10.320 --> 00:12:17.680 pursue this love. Everything we do is either fear-based or love-based. 117 00:12:18.880 --> 00:12:25.360 Are we walking in fear? Are we being controlled by fear? You know, fear shuts everything down. 118 00:12:25.360 --> 00:12:32.640 It shuts the body down. Our arteries close down. You know, the blood pulls in. And it goes on and it says, yet earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts. And it says, to be used for the benefit of others, especially it says, 125 00:13:21.680 --> 00:13:26.480 that you may prophesy. So it says, you know, desire all these spiritual gifts but especially 126 00:13:26.480 --> 00:13:35.120 desire that you can prophesy. And the meaning of that is to foretell the future, to speak a new 127 00:13:35.120 --> 00:13:42.720 message from God to the people. And scripture says that God never does anything without first 128 00:13:42.720 --> 00:13:47.920 revealing it to people. And we've been seeing that in the previous weeks. He speaks in the word. It says that every scripture is written by the Holy Spirit, the breath 131 00:14:01.120 --> 00:14:06.400 of God. And we saw that there's the Logos word, the written word, but it didn't just stop there. 132 00:14:06.400 --> 00:14:13.760 There's the Rhema word. The word continues to be spoken to you and I. And so this is a time to dig into the word, 138 00:14:51.040 --> 00:14:58.160 to go into creation. And then we saw how he speaks through visions. So when we saw how he brought two 144 00:15:33.360 --> 00:15:40.640 completely unlikely people together, he brought a Roman centurion who it says was a praying man 145 00:15:40.640 --> 00:15:49.040 and a generous man and brought together a Jewish man, Peter, a devout Jew, two people that would 146 00:15:49.120 --> 00:15:55.920 never come together, two nations, two cultures that hated each other, despised each other, 147 00:15:56.800 --> 00:16:03.440 who would never have come together had God not prepared the hearts first. So amazingly enough he prepared Pharaoh giving him these dreams and 154 00:16:54.000 --> 00:17:00.320 in Pharaoh's case it was a repeated dream. It came a couple times and the dream was one of those 155 00:17:00.320 --> 00:17:07.599 dreams that he couldn't shake. His magician, sorceress, the people of Egypt couldn't bring 158 00:17:19.200 --> 00:17:26.240 the answer. At the same time he'd spent a lifetime preparing Joseph. Again two very unlikely people 159 00:17:26.240 --> 00:17:33.760 to come together and he had given Joseph wisdom and the gift of interpreting dreams and Joseph 160 00:17:33.760 --> 00:17:41.440 had been faithful to use his gifts even when his circumstances were horrible. Joseph was unjustly 161 00:17:41.440 --> 00:17:48.480 in prison and still in prison he served the other people, the other prisoners and that would 162 00:17:48.480 --> 00:17:54.080 favorably lead to when Pharaoh couldn't find the answer someone who'd been in prison, remember 163 00:17:54.080 --> 00:18:02.240 Joseph, they pulled Joseph out of prison. They bring him there and he's able to answer the needs 164 00:18:02.240 --> 00:18:09.280 of Pharaoh and he has a divine strategy. We need people seeking God, seeking wisdom, that they can have discernment, 170 00:18:46.960 --> 00:18:52.560 that they can have wisdom, that they can have understanding. So I'm picking up there today that we look at the purpose of dreams, 174 00:19:16.080 --> 00:19:22.880 the many ways that God uses dreams and I've had such profound experiences with dreams. 175 00:19:23.680 --> 00:19:30.880 I have had dreams that I think if it was only dreams it would make me convinced that there's 176 00:19:30.880 --> 00:19:39.680 something beyond me that there is God working and I've literally had dreams where things manifest. 177 00:19:40.400 --> 00:19:50.000 I had a dream that in a very shortened form I had a dream of a woman Rhonda Calhoun she has a 178 00:19:50.000 --> 00:19:55.760 amazing ministry for sex traffic girls in Missouri and God connected us just 179 00:19:55.760 --> 00:19:59.840 powerfully spiritually and one night I had a dream and I had a 180 00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:05.480 Dream I was in her bathroom and I was like kneeling down and she was anointing 181 00:20:05.480 --> 00:20:09.480 me with essential oils. She had these little bottles of essential oils in her 182 00:20:09.480 --> 00:20:15.360 bathroom and she was anointing me with these oils and do you know she has a 183 00:20:15.360 --> 00:20:20.120 homeless ministry and so she's got food and she serves the homeless food. Do you 184 00:20:20.120 --> 00:20:23.720 know in all the years of getting delivery trucks for homeless that she 185 00:20:23.720 --> 00:20:29.280 stored there, this had never happened. Do you know the next day she got a 186 00:20:29.280 --> 00:20:38.400 delivery and do you know it had the six little vials of essential oils. I've had 187 00:20:38.400 --> 00:20:43.860 so many supernatural experiences that it's probably one of the reasons I'm so 188 00:20:43.860 --> 00:20:48.480 passionate to teach this because I know that I'm no different. God's no respecter 189 00:20:48.480 --> 00:20:52.800 of people. I know what he's done for me. All the things he's shown, all the divine 190 00:20:52.800 --> 00:20:57.420 appointments, all the divine connections like we saw last time that one of the 191 00:20:57.420 --> 00:21:02.900 gifts is divine appointments. I know that's for you too. It's not just for me. 192 00:21:02.900 --> 00:21:07.260 So today let's look at the purpose of dreams in the Bible, the different 193 00:21:07.260 --> 00:21:13.540 purposes. So one of the purposes of dreams in the Bible is warning or to 194 00:21:13.540 --> 00:21:20.740 reveal truth. God will give you a dream to say hey you're heading down a path be 195 00:21:20.740 --> 00:21:27.460 careful. Hey you're connecting with a person be careful. Hey you're doing 196 00:21:27.460 --> 00:21:31.580 something that may not be in your best interest and you'll get a dream to 197 00:21:31.580 --> 00:21:35.780 reveal that. And let's look at an example of that. If you're following in the Bible 198 00:21:35.780 --> 00:21:45.420 you can turn to Genesis 20 and verse 5. Genesis 20 verse 5. It says that, well 199 00:21:45.460 --> 00:21:53.500 let's see, we'll start in verse 3. It says, God came to Abimelech, I'll try to 200 00:21:53.500 --> 00:22:00.300 pronounce that, Abimelech in a dream. So here we see God's coming to a human in a 201 00:22:00.300 --> 00:22:08.620 dream. So God came to Abimelech in a dream during the night and he said behold 202 00:22:08.620 --> 00:22:15.580 you are a dead man. Like you're busted, you're dead. Because the woman you've 203 00:22:15.580 --> 00:22:23.260 taken as your wife, she's another person's wife. Now you see the story what 204 00:22:23.260 --> 00:22:29.940 happened. Abraham had Sarah with him and she was very beautiful woman and when 205 00:22:29.940 --> 00:22:36.740 they crossed this part he was afraid and he said pretend to be my sister and she 206 00:22:36.740 --> 00:22:42.500 honored him and so Abimelech took Sarah to be his wife thinking that it's his, 207 00:22:42.500 --> 00:22:48.140 that it was Abraham's sister. So he wasn't out of integrity. He thought this 208 00:22:48.140 --> 00:22:53.060 was an available woman but look how God saves him. As you go further in the 209 00:22:53.060 --> 00:22:59.500 verses it says, he says, Abimelech says God in the integrity of my heart and 210 00:22:59.500 --> 00:23:04.020 innocence of my hand I've done this. In other words I didn't know and he goes 211 00:23:04.020 --> 00:23:09.460 on to tell the story. He said that it was a sister. Verse 6, then God said to 212 00:23:09.460 --> 00:23:16.300 him in the dream, yes I know you did this in the integrity of your heart. I'm gonna 213 00:23:16.300 --> 00:23:21.180 pause there for a second because in other verses the Bible says the 214 00:23:21.180 --> 00:23:27.940 integrity of the righteous protects us and this is the case we saw in Abimelech. 215 00:23:27.940 --> 00:23:32.900 He was making a mistake. Everything has a gestation period, right? Plants have it, babies have it, 332 00:30:39.320 --> 00:30:45.600 there's a gestation period. And I think one of the ways is 338 00:31:13.960 --> 00:31:19.520 writing down your dreams and remembering them, writing down the prophetic words 339 00:31:19.520 --> 00:31:23.960 you got, writing down the visions you got, writing down the miracles, the 340 00:31:23.960 --> 00:31:32.000 experiences, and it's those things that keep us going when times are hard. I don't know if I've shared 349 00:32:21.880 --> 00:32:29.240 with you, but I had in 2004, I had a literal vision and I had like, I pulled 350 00:32:29.240 --> 00:32:35.480 into my driveway after working out and I saw like a screen and I saw hospitals 351 00:32:35.480 --> 00:32:40.360 and universities and retreat centers and I heard an audible voice, we're gonna 352 00:32:40.360 --> 00:32:47.080 talk about that in the coming weeks, I heard an audible voice and that said I 353 00:32:47.080 --> 00:32:50.440 would be one of the largest philanthropists in the world. That was 354 00:32:50.440 --> 00:32:56.880 such an impactful experience for me. As I always think about the vision that God 355 00:32:56.880 --> 00:33:01.120 has for me and where I'm going, I remember that day that he gave me that 356 00:33:01.120 --> 00:33:08.160 literal vision. And so God has a way through dreams of confirming promises 357 00:33:08.160 --> 00:33:15.600 and so we see that here in Genesis 28 verses 13 and 14, we see that God used a 358 00:33:15.600 --> 00:33:25.080 dream to confirm a promise. And of course this is about Jacob and so Jacob, if you 359 00:33:25.080 --> 00:33:28.440 remember the promises that had been going ever since the grandfather 360 00:33:28.440 --> 00:33:35.200 Abraham, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. There's been this promise of a promised land and 361 00:33:35.200 --> 00:33:40.440 so this promise is having to carry through three generations. And so it says here about Jacob that he 363 00:33:47.320 --> 00:33:52.960 dreamt, so here we see again a dream happening, he dreamt that there was a 364 00:33:52.960 --> 00:34:00.240 ladder or some translations say a stairway placed on earth and the top of 365 00:34:00.240 --> 00:34:07.760 it reached way out of sight toward heaven. And in this dream he saw the 366 00:34:07.760 --> 00:34:15.679 angels of God ascending and descending, going to and fro heaven. So in this dream 367 00:34:15.679 --> 00:34:20.320 you start to just see, huh, there's something more than just earth, what we 368 00:34:20.320 --> 00:34:27.080 see with our eyes. And this happens for for so many of us. Let me take a drink 369 00:34:27.080 --> 00:34:37.920 here. That dreams, visions, miracles, healing, prophetic words open us to 370 00:34:37.920 --> 00:34:43.080 realize that there's more than just here and now. Open us to realize that God is 371 00:34:43.080 --> 00:34:49.400 involved in our life, that he is speaking, that he is still here. And so for Jacob 372 00:34:49.400 --> 00:34:53.719 that would be an amazing reminder to actually see angels going up and down 373 00:34:53.719 --> 00:35:01.760 this staircase. Verse 13, now we hear a voice as well, it says, and behold 374 00:35:00.000 --> 00:35:07.880 He's still dreaming. The Lord stood above him and said. So now we're seeing kind of 375 00:35:07.880 --> 00:35:14.040 a combination. We're seeing that he's having a dream and he's hearing. And so a lot of times he'll use that. 382 00:35:59.360 --> 00:36:05.080 He'll use that to confirm. Okay, another purpose of a dream. Okay, another purpose 383 00:36:05.080 --> 00:36:11.560 of a dream is encouragement. Just to encourage you. Maybe, you know, 384 00:36:11.560 --> 00:36:17.680 encouragement, right? N means on the inside, courage. Maybe your courage on the 385 00:36:17.680 --> 00:36:23.480 inside is lacking. Maybe you're getting tired as we're facing this pandemic, or 386 00:36:23.480 --> 00:36:29.000 you're facing financial trials, or you're facing sickness, or you're facing fear, or 387 00:36:29.000 --> 00:36:34.040 you know, so many things that people are facing right now. We need encouragement. 388 00:36:34.040 --> 00:36:39.880 We need to be encouragement to each other. But I believe God is no respecter 389 00:36:39.880 --> 00:36:45.200 of persons. He's still causing dreams and he's still offering encouragement. What he did for Isaac, or Abraham, or Jacob, or Moses, or 396 00:37:34.160 --> 00:37:41.680 anybody else in Scripture, he will do for you. Please, I need hope. Give me a dream. And God was so gracious to 402 00:38:17.680 --> 00:38:23.440 give him a dream and reveal what was to come. And so we see this still happening 403 00:38:23.440 --> 00:38:28.440 today, that one of the ways God speaks is through our dreams. And so he can remind 404 00:38:28.440 --> 00:38:34.000 us of promises. He can prevent us from sinning. He can offer encouragement. It can give a person direction.
